MEET THE PEDIATRIC DENTISTS
Dr. Charles Brenner, DMD
Dr. Charles Brenner is a native of Batavia, NY. He maintains a practice at North Coast Dental, and also provides his expertise to the next generation of pediatric dentists as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dentistry at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Brenner maintains privileges as a member of the medical and dental staff at Rochester General Hospital, and he is recognized nationally as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Brenner earned his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University, and he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with honors in Oral Medicine. He completed both his General Dentistry residency and his Pediatric Dentistry residency at Eastman Dental Center in Rochester.
An avid cyclist, Dr. Brenner follows his own advice to his patients by maintaining a healthy regimen that includes biking, tennis and walking. He and his wife, Zara, are the proud parents of two grown daughters.
Dr. David Levy, DMD, MS
When you meet Dr. David Levy, it's easy to imagine him in the position he held before coming to Rochester: the director of a dental clinic for children in an underserved area of rural Maine. He helped to make sure that kids had the opportunity to receive the high quality care every child deserves. Today, children's dental health continues to be his primary focus - both in his own practice and in his work in education. When he's not serving his patients at North Coast Dental, he's teaching upcoming dentists as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Departments of Dentistry and Pediatrics at the University of Rochester, or refining the skills of graduate students in the Pediatric Dentistry Specialty Program at the Eastman Dental Center - position he's held for more than thirty years.
Originally from Boston, Dr. Levy graduated from Boston University with a degree in Biology, and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Impressed by the graduate program in pediatric dentistry at Eastman Dental Center, Dr. Levy and his wife, Jane, moved to Rochester - and never left! He earned his Certification in Pediatric Dentistry at Eastman Dental and a master's degree in Community Health from the University of Rochester.
Dr. Levy is a two-time recipient of the University of Rochester's Part-Time Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching, and he was honored in 2007 with the Iranpour Excellence in Clinical Education Award, which recognizes an Eastman Department of Dentistry faculty member for demonstrating sustained excellence in clinical education. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Levy has a married son and a married daughter, and is a proud grandfather of 2 grandsons and a granddaughter. He and his wife are avid birders who travel from Florida's Dry Tortugas to Machias Seal Island in Maine to see rare and regional species.
